The father of genetics, Gregor Mendel (1822-1884), described organisms as hybrid when their parents were of different types. It is neither a property that can be acquired by the wearer himself, nor a certain external quality. Rather, the term focuses on the origin, on the legacy of a constitution that works in secret. Today, “hybrid” has become the key term for numerous phenomena in an increasingly complex world. The gallery Raum mit Licht shows how much the understanding has changed in a curated themed exhibition. Selected works by eight artists encircle the problem of indissoluble ambiguity.

Heidrun Rosenberg studied art history, archeology and history in Munich and Berlin. In addition to freelance work in the exhibition area, the writing of texts in the field of art and the participation in various university third-party funded projects she had teaching assignments at the Universities of Freiburg and Vienna. In 2015 she curated the jubilee exhibition: " Wien 1365 - eine Universität entsteht", from 06.03. until 03.05.2015 in the State Hall of the National Library.
